The game started good for both sides with Derby having most of the possession, the Rams had a chance straight away with Craig Bryson crossing but Wolves cleared the ball away. 10 minutes had gone by and Derby looked like a team who were undefeated and a team who had a lot of confidence, but Wolves had the best chances so far with Ebanks-Blake hitting the cross bar from 6 yards out,Wolves should have been in front.  After that chances Derby had many of their own, Connor Sammon had a shot but was well taken by Wolves keeper Ikeme, then it was Jamie Wards turn,he shot and Ikeme again made a save but this time onto the post. Craig Bryson looked set to score for the Rams but he pulled it back for Jamie Ward to score, but however the ball was cleared out and another Derby chances was wasted. Out of the blue the home side made an attack and scored, this was undeserved as Derby were dominating the game. Kevin Doyle was the scorer for Wolves who put the ball in the bottom left corner. There was some very encouraging signs for Derby in the first half, and looked a completely different team than the one at Bolton.

Half time: Wolves 1-0 Derby

Derby started the second half brightly and were passing the ball very good, new signing James O'Connor looked comfortable at the back. Jamie Ward yet again had another shot but again was saved by Ikeme who looked very good between the sticks. Derby dominated most of the second half with Wolves hardly threatening, Ward had yet another chances and should have scored to level the scores. The rams should have been leading the game but wasted chances cost them. With 10 minutes to go Nigel Clough threw on Jacobs and Robinson for Coutts and Sammon. Robinson had a chance to score and should of but Johnson made a last ditch tackle, the 1400 travelling fans were wondering if yet another defeat was coming. The fourth official added 4 minutes on, normally Derby would have been hoofing the ball up to the strikers but they were passing it forward and stayed composed. In the 93rd minute Derby won a corner, Jacobs took it the ball landed to Bryson who passed it on to Hendrick, who passed a great ball on to Robinson which saw Derby score. Did Derby deserved the goal? Yes they did, after dominance in the game and more shots Derby should have actually won the game.
