Players Ratings: Netherlands 1-2 Germany

Netherlands starting XI :
Stekelenburg- 6
Had an average game, could of cost the Netherlands at the end when klose closed him down, could of scored but went wide of the target.


Van Der Wiel- 5

Attacked very little,wasn't one of his best games but was tidy on the ball.

 Heitinga- 5

 Very shaky at the back, not the best defending he did in an orange shirt.


Mathijsen- 5

Was recalled to the starting 11 after missing their first game, struggled at the back and allowed Gomez to much space.

Willems- 4

Had a bad first half, got more better in the second half but still struggled against the Germans, he will have better days.

De jong- 6
Made some important tackles, but never stopped the German Midfielders attacking.


Van Bommel- 4
Had a very poor game, wasn't at his best. Subbed off at half time. 


Sneijder- 6
Didn't have a bad game but wasn't one of his best, his passing could have been better at times, Germans much better in the centre of the park. 


Robben-5
Threatened the German defence on occasions but never played well, also wasn't best pleased when taken off.


Van Persie- 5
Should have finished some of his chances, scored 1 goal but has not really shined in the Euro's.


Afellay-4
A very poor first half, wasn't in the game at all and was hardly recognised. 


Subs:
Van der Vaart- 6
Gave them some attacking threats but didn't really change the game.



Dirk Kuyt-5
Came on late in the second half, didn't have time to do much.


Huntelaar-6
Didn't really have a good chance on goal when coming on at half time to replace Affellay.

Germany starting XI:

Neuer -7

Had a good game, didn't really have a lot to do but made an excellent save from a Robin Van Persie shot.

Hummels-6

Started off a bit slow but then gradually got better, pushed up as Germany attacked.

Badstuber-7

Lost Van Persie a couple of times but apart from that he had a comfortable game.

Lahm-7

Another great game, pushed up the field well and made some good blocks and tackles.

Jerome Boateng- 6

Very good in defence kept most of the Netherlands attackers quiet.

Khedira-7

Dominated the midfield and had an easy game, looked sharp.

Schweinsteiger-8

Set up both goals for Gomez, his passing was yet again top class. 

Ozil- 8

Was able to help Germany by attacking at the Netherlands defence, gave to Germans more creativity  in the midfield. 

Podolski- 6

Not one of his best games but linked well with his team mates and helped them with attacks. 

Muller-6

Gave the attackers some good balls, but however wasn't one of his best games.

Gomez-8

Took the two goals very well, his first goal superb and his second goal was even better. 

Subs:

Kroos-6

Came on late not much to do.

Bender-6

Again came on late so didn't have a chance to show what he can do.

Klose-6

Could have scored when he came on but was unlucky not to.
